A
Solemn Remembrance of Guy Williams
A Legendary Hero.
by
Alan T. Sippola.
From
the 5th of May to the 13th of May the Internet
Discussion List - LIStalk was swamped by heartfelt tributes to mark
the 10th anniversary of the passing of Guy Williams. While
the tributes were many one, by LIStalk subscriber Alan T.
Sippola,
said it all and was subsequently forwarded on to Guy's son, Steve,
and to Guy's family. Thanks to Alan for allowing Alpha Control to
reprint his tribute - "A Solemn Remembrance of Guy Williams,
a Legendary Hero," and the replies he received from the Catalano
family.

LIStalk: "A Solemn Remembrance Of Guy Williams a Legendary Hero"
Date: Fri, 7 May 1999 23:15:03 -0700 (PDT)
Ten
years ago, near the date of May 8, a most magnificent and respectfully,
talented man who touched the very centre of the hearts of countless
millions all over the world, passed on to a higher level. His name
was Armando Catalano. But, to all of those who wish to remember
him best, he went by the name of, Guy Williams.
Guy's
most triumphant achievement in his life was of course, his honour
of being a devoted husband and father to what he cherished most,
his very own loving family, who always came first. But, the major
acclaimed fame that he most certainly has been given all due credit
for, was his extraordinarily gifted acting ability in gracing the
screen to entertain us, in both movies
and on television. His career as a superbly incredible actor without
a fault in question, pushed him near the top of the Hollywood entertainment
industry. Because of his dashing good looks, an always-honest man
of valour and an aura of charm which went to the very roots of the
soul of everyone who admired him.
Guy
always stood tall, whether on screen or off, because he was so proud
of the fact that he had accomplished so much in his life, in so
very little time. Not to mention, a beloved caring family, a great
multitude of friends, and the millions of fans who adored him so.
When God created Guy Williams, he threw away the die, because the
most perfect example of a true man had been cast. But, like all
truly beautiful living creations made by God's hand, they are not
mortal and must fall after some span of time unbeknownst, so that
they may join him in the Kingdom of Heaven.
In
observance of this "Giant of a Man", may we all bow our
heads for a moment of prayer, and remember this kind, gentle man
who entertained us all with a Midas touch, that filled our hearts
with so much joy and happiness, as; Guy Williams... "A Legendary
Hero". I'm sure that if Guy is looking down upon us all from
heaven right now, he is probably smiling, because he at least knows
a great magnitude of his friends and fans who have never forgotten
him, all really loved him and truly did care.
God
Bless You, Guy Williams!...
We Loved You, So Very, Very Much!

A Letter of Gratitude with Tears upon It,
From Guy Williams, Jr.
Date: Thursday, May 13, 1999 7:59 AM
First
of all, I would just like to thank my very dear, sweet friend, Karen
Hamilton, "Queen Lady of the B-9 Robot Builder's Club",
from the bottom of my heart, for forwarding my eulogy on Guy Williams,
to his son Steve Catalano and his family. And then sending to me
personally, Steve's letter, which I shall treasure always. And,
for then posting Steve's beautiful letter, onto my very dear, special
friend, Tammy Wall's, LIStalk Lost in Space Discussion List,
for all to see. I would just like to say to all of my many LIS fan
friends and comrades out there, that I am extremely proudly honored
by the fact that I have received this very warm, kindhearted letter
of esteemed gratitude and deepest appreciation from Steve Catalano
and his family, in regards to my monumental, ten year anniversary
tribute, to the loss of beloved Guy Williams.
And,
I am especially very deeply moved that they found it so heartrending.
Because, as I sat there writing it, I really gave it my all, which
came from the bottom of my heart, on this truly magnificent man
like no other who has come before, or after him, who actually stood
like a giant above them all, no matter where he was. In my opinion,
it was not only the extreme joy and happiness that we all felt when
watching Guy Williams perform on television, or in movies with his
extraordinary gifted talent, that went beyond the pale to the Nth
degree, in everything he did. But because, in my deep sorrow and
grief for this man, I truly believe that we lost "Thee Grandest
Man", who has ever lived!
My
weeping tears continuously fall, over this mighty loss.
Thank
you.~

Dear
Alan, Karen and All:
Thank
you so much for the very kind words, thoughts, and prayers in remembering
my dad this 10th anniversary of his passing. He always was, and continues
to be a guiding light for my family and I as he is also for his fans.
My
family and I are truly touched by your sentiments.
All
the best always,
From:

Dear
Steve Catalano and beloved family,
I
have just read your reply letter, which Karen Hamilton forwarded on
to me, with regards to my eulogy on your dad, Guy Williams.
Thank
you from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time out of you and
your own families personal life, to say so many kind words, about
my true thoughts which I presented and shared with others on a most
extraordinary man... your beloved dad. I am truly honored Steve, to
have been able to say something that you and your family found so
touching. In my opinion, your father was the greatest television actor
who has ever lived. No other actor has even come close, to the performance
that your dad gave, to entertain us all.
I
am 48 years old, and grew up watching every single episode of both
Zorro and Lost in Space, when I was a tad younger. And, your dad was
always my biggest television hero. He was always there, as someone
who was larger-than-life to me and simply captivated my heart like
no other person then, or now. Although I am a huge devoted Lost in
Space fan and enjoyed him in that series more than words could ever
describe, I loved his outstanding work in Zorro and all of the movies
that he was in. I only hope, that all of those others who read my
dedication on your father, will take a few moments of time to bow
their heads in prayer, and realize with remembrance, that we all lost
the very best man who ever lived.
I
Thank You So Very, Very Much, Steve Catalano and Your Entire Family,
for allowing me the honor and the privilege to say those so too few
words, about; Guy Williams... "A Legendary Hero".
May
God Bless You and Your Family, Now and Forever More!
Kindest
Regards and Sincere Best Wishes,
~
