Loving the Alien – David Bowie
The question of whether there are other life forms in space has fascinated human thinkers throughout history. In recent years, technology has allowed us to search distant stars in our galaxy for Earth-like planets. NASA’s Kepler space telescope discovered a planet believed to be the closest-twin to Earth which is potentially suitable for life. The newly discovered planet is labeled Kepler-452b, it’s the smallest planet so far to be found orbiting closer in a habitable zone —the area where the water considered essential for life could exist. However, the Kepler astronomers have no direct evidence the newly found planet can actually support life.
Our Milky Way Galaxy contains an estimated one trillion planets, an average of three or more planets per star. Billions of these planets are the size of the Earth and in the habitable zone, not too cold and not too hot. There are billions of other galaxies outside the Milky Way Galaxy where life could emerge and evolve. John Grunsfeld, a former astronaut and associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate, predicted that signs of life will be found relatively soon both in our own solar system and beyond.

NASA is planning to launch a mission to Europa on 2022. The main goal of this mission is to see the moon’s potential habitability and to search for signs of alien life. Hunting for evidence of alien life seems to be much trickier than identifying habitable environments. Experiments and mission have yet to provide a definitive answer about the probability of other life forms in space.
Dan Werthimer, director of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Research Center at UC Berkeley talked about the current search for life on other planets. He said the Kepler spacecraft mission discovered thousands of potential alien worlds, and hundreds have been verified.

Aliens if they exist, is probably not the little green men we see depicted in science fiction. Different alien species could range from bacteria-like organisms to creatures with civilizations far more advance than ours. But what would it mean to find yourself dating or loving an alien? Would they be as unusual as some of the people you might meet on Hookupz? A romance between two different species is romanticized in the movies. But for thousands of single people who scoured the Earth for love and have been unsuccessful in their quest. This could be a good chance to literally look to the stars for love.
LocalSin, a dating website says it’s in the process of creating a smartphone application to help extra-terrestrials and humans find love across the galaxy. The company was inspired by NASA, they are currently working on developing an app that will transmit radio frequencies from Earth to other planets across the Milky Way galaxy. Subscribers of this new intergalactic dating app could possibly find their soulmate or twinflame hidden among the stars. This app will give normal, broadminded people the opportunity to communicate with other life forms, and could open the doors to true universal dating.
